Thoughts: Entangled is a unique novel because there has never been a book that is the same. Some novels can have the same concepts as other but Entangled is a completely original trilogy. I found the plot of this book fast paced and always kept you drawn in and leaves you wanting more. Entangled is as suspenseful as it is dramatic which gives the reader enjoyment in the book.
         The cover of this book is over the top beautiful! All of the trilogy covers are gorgeous...

Spellbound Series by Nikki Jefford


 

     As you can see, each cover is beautiful soft colour that is pleasing to the eye as well as Grey on the cover with a flower adds another gorgeous look to it. Personally, I love when the title is written is big cursive text because it makes the cover look pretty.
     I found this novel particularly interesting when we find out that Grey is in her sisters body because it is such an interesting plot twist and can I say, there are MANY plot twists that keep you intrigued in this novel. Nikki Jefford did a fabulous job in making this novel one for the record books.
           One out of the many things I enjoyed in this novel was the characters. Grey was always drawing and the way her as a protagonist spoke drew you into the novel even more. Her thoughts added a special touch to Entangled. Another memorable character is Raj McKenna. Raj McKenna is a warlock and Grey is a witch so they are perfect matches. Throughout the story, Raj proves himself as a loving character well he helps Grey fight to keep her life and figure out how she died and how she even came back.
    Overall, Entangled is a novel that I wish to re-read many times and I know that each time it will be as intriguing as the last. I would rate Entangled by Nikki Jefford 5/5 stars because honestly, this novel had no flaws and it leaves the reader off at a spot where they just want to keep reading which is where the second book will come in.

Movie to Book: Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures

     Everyone has heard of the novel Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Now the novel has become a major motion picture.

     

 

 The motion picture of Beautiful Creatures was a true success. I feel in love with the movie since I saw that the publication was going to become a movie. I wanted to be there opening day to see this movie. Unfortuantly, plans did not work out and I ended going shortly after opening day but I was still thrilled to go and see Ethan and Lena's adventure come to the screens. It had been a while since I had read the book so I went over the plot to refresh my memory and from what I could tell, the motion picture was fabulous. It was bang on in every aspect, the actors and actresses, scenery even the accents! This is truly a book to read and a movie to see! 

 

Now, I do have to say, almost always the novel is better than the movie and in this case, it was true, the novel was better but the movie was still amazing! I could not take my eyes of the screen like I was never able to put the books down. Beautiful Creatures is such a complex book that it would be difficult to put into a movie but the cast, directors, producers and everyone involved did an over the top job. All the characters were exactly how I imagined them and they even sounded the same; it was that well done. If you have yet to read the book, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Go read this novel right now! After you read the novel I strongly recommend that you go and see the film. I would give the movie and novel 5 out of 5 stars. What did all you Beautiful Creatures fans think of the movie? Thoughts: The title says it all...Beautiful Creatures is truly a beautiful novel. Just by reading the summary you know this is one have to read...NOW! I mean it people! Beautiful Creatures did come out a few years ago but if you haven't been able to do it, read it as soon as possible.
            To begin, the plot was thoroughly thought out. I mean a daring, handsome boy that dreams about a girl and then, suddenly, she shows up and a spark is instantly lit. Ethan and Lena are both grand characters that speak to you strongly. They portray the message that if you really want something, fight for it, don't just let it go. In most novels, the characters begin to give up on their relationship but then in the end, find out that they were meant to be but for  I loved the way how they had an passionate relationship before they even met, they were truly meant to be. For Ethan and Lena,they knew that they were meant to be from beginning to end and they could never let each other go. This love story has hit many rough patches but they truly touch your heart. What do you think of Lena and Ethan?
      Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl did a wonderful job with bringing the story to life. They also brought the plot to a point where it was above and beyond. I found it impossible to put this book down. It was like it grew onto me and became a part of my hands.
      In the end, Beautiful Creatures was another fabulous novel that will intrigue every audience. I gave Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl 4/5 stars because it was an amazing novel with very, very few flaws and I would recommend to everyone. Read the novel and tell me your thoughts on the book!

Thoughts: Sing me to Sleep is a book that will touch your heart forever. I was unsure how much I would like this book at first but as I got into it, the plot thickened and the book really speaks deeply to you. Angela Morrison threw so many twists into the novel that pulls you in and you will never come out, not even when you finish the book. Sing me to Sleep has made a special spot in my heart because it brings the reader romance, drama, adventure to the novel and you don't see all of these genres in one book a lot.
           This is the first stand alone novel that I have read in a long time because now many authors write a book and then feel that it needs a sequel and it just because a huge series so it was nice to just read one book for a change. I do have to say that sometimes I hesitate when reading a stand-alone novel because in some cases, the ending has been vague and open which can leave me frustrated at times and can also have a plot that is just kind of flat and which doesn't make the novel as exciting as series can be but I have to say, Angela Morrison did a fabulous job, the ending was amazing, the whole plot kept you in the book the whole time and still leaves you wanting more but in a good way.
     Another aspect of this book that I loved was that it made you cry. I could name hundreds of books and movies that I have cried in but I felt like in Sing me to Sleep, it made me cry because the book meant something, not just because it was a sad part but it touched your heart and this is one of the few books that I have read that really speaks to you.
           In conclusions, it is probably obvious that I am giving Sing me to Sleep by Angela Morrison a 5/5 stars because it was written brilliantly and they're really no words to describe my feelings towards this book. I strongly suggest that everyone should read this book or at least give it a try.

Book Review for Broken by A.E. Rought

         Now a mysterious boy has appeared in town, Alex Franks, the son of a widowed surgeon. As Emma becomes closer to Alex, she realises that he knows things that no one else but Daniel knew, for example being able to open Emma`s locker when it is stuck. Even his hazel eyes and little brown flecks are exactly the same as Daniel. 
         When Emma stumbles upon a grotesque and terrifying discovery existing of mangled live animals that are supposed to be dead and many other suspicious things inside the Franks`estate, she starts to wonder who and what the Franks are. 



Thoughts: Having heard many different versions of Frankenstein before, I was not sure how this book was going to sit with me but A.E Rought exceeded my expectations for this book. This novel was planned out very well and did not follow the exact story line of Frankenstein which made the book not as predictable as it would have been if it followed exactly the same plot line. 
         In my opinion, Broken was well written and had a very intense and intriguing plot line that grasped the readers attention. One thing that could have been done a bit better was if the beginning of the book to really pick up then and there. It took a few chapters to really get into the book and to be introduced to all of the characters and the base of the plot. 
         Throughout the whole time spent reading it, I had my face stuck in the book, literally. I was reading the book and thought just one more chapter and ended up reading about fifty more pages. This is how thrilling Broken was. The book gave me tones of mixed emotions. I was laughing at one point and then bawling the next. There were also moments where I was sitting on the couch, screaming in my head because I was afraid of what was going to happen next. I love it when authors make their novel include sections that give you mixed emotions so you do not know whether to cry or to have a huge smile grow on your face. 
         In the whole book I would have to say that Alex`s father was the darkest and starngest character of all. For those who have read this book, would you agree? My favourite character would have to be Alex because he was so kind and always there for Emma whenever she needed him. He was a little mysterious in the beginning but as the story went on, his character became a compasionate, caring and loving person. 
         Overall I would have to give Broken 4 out of 5 stars because it was a fabulous book and I am so happy to have read it. There were a few things here and there that could have been better but overall, Broken was a very well done book so I would just like to say that A.E Rought did an amazing job and you should all read Broken! Book Review for The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

Thoughts: Kelley Armstrong, you just blew me away with how marvellous this book was. Yes, the summary draws you in and makes you really want to read this book but once you start reading, this book gets ten times better than you actually thought it would be.
     Kelley Armstrong is phenomenal writer and this, being the first book of hers that I have read, it just draws me in and makes me want to read more of her books. She brings this story to life and makes you feel very connected to the book and the characters. You can really feel the hurt, anger and sadness in the characters, I mean, people think that they're insane.
     One thing that I really adored about this book was how Kelley Armstrong didn't just focus on vampires or werewolfs but a whole bunch of different supernaturals which was fun so you weren't just focused on one thing but you got to experience all of the other abilities and some were spine-chilling but still amusing.
     I would give The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong a 5/5 stars because it was a chilling and dark book but still fun and entertaining.

Thoughts: Love Story is probably one of the most unique books that I have ever read. I have never read or even heard of a book about a writer before this one but it was still an extraordinary read. In Love Story, one thing that I really liked was how Jennifer Echols had Erin and Hunter`s stories actually in the book as certain chapters.
     Jennifer Echols made this book very exciting and a thrilling read. This was my first Jennifer Echols book and it left me wanting more, which is what her books do, even if they are stand alone novels.
     There was only something about this book that just didn't click with me. The writing and plot was a little bit slow in the beginning but picked up through out the book and it wasn't so slow that I wanted to put the book down but it just took me a little bit to really get into the book and feel like I'm actually in the book myself. So with that said, Love Story could have been a better book but was still a well written, exciting and fun read.
          I would rate Love Story by Jennifer Echols 4 out of 5 stars because it was an acceptable read that people should try and if you are unsure of it, borrow from a friend or public library. I am excited to read more of Jennifer Echols books and will hopefully pick another one up soon.

Thoughts: Kissed by an Angel is a bind-up of the first three books in this series; Kissed by an Angel, The Power of Love and Soulmates. Elizabeth Chadlers story is about the tragic story of Tristan and Ivy`s love and the plot just pulls you in and makes you fall in love with the two over and over again. Tristan is the perfect person and is everything in a person that anyone could dream for and when the tragedy happens, it brings tears to your eyes to see him go. I literally had to stop reading because the tears just blurred my eyes and I wasn't able to see the worlds or really see anything.
     All three books in this one book are all amazing. Not one leaves you in a boring place. One thing that was really cool was that Elizabeth Chadler did was switching perspectives between Ivy and dead Tristan which was really sweet and sad because you felt all of the feelings between the two and how much they missed each other which was really touching.
     I love all of the emotions between Ivy and Tristan and all of the others because it was so sweet and touching with the romance between the two and how Ivy gives up at some points and then you just want her to believe in Tristan so much you think it will kill you if she doesn't.
     I would rate Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chadler a 5 out of 5 stars because it was such a touching book that will be implanted in your mind forever and you will want to re-read a thousand times and will never get bored of it because it is that good.

Thoughts: When I am asked to say what this book is, the first thing that pops into my mind is, Perfect Summer Read. Beach Blondes by Katherine Applegate is a bind up of the first three books in the Summer series; June Dreams, July`s promises and August Magic. All of these books are super fun and adorable.
I got really caught up in this story because it was so fun and cute with a little bit of a mystery to it at some points and it was fun to try and solve it. This book is a really good summer and beach read. If I had to pick one book for over-all best beach book, this would be my top pick. Summer is my favourite girl and she makes the book filled with Drama and Laughter and my favourite boy by far is Seth. When Summer hated Seth I wanted to scream at her and say, MY GOODNESS SUMMER, HE IS AMAZING AND WAS CLEARLY SET UP AND YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE HIM, but Summer couldn't hear me at times.
Katherine Applegate is a great writer and is perfect to write the Summer series. If any other author wrote this book, I don`t think it would be as good but it would also be different.
I would rate Beach Blondes by Katherine Applegate a 5/5 stars because it was a really great and cute summer read that will never be forgotten and I am really excited to read the next books!

Thoughts: Tempest is probably one of the most unique of 2012. I have yet to read many time-travel books and I hope to read more soon but of the ones that I have read, Tempest is by far the best. It has such an on going, original plot that has readers round up in the story the whole time.
    Julie Cross does a tremendous job with covering the aspect of time-travel and when we were going back in time and back to the actual time period, you were never confused in where you were and what you were doing.
      My all time favourite character in this book would have to be Jackson. He is so kind and loyal but deveous and dangerous at the same time. I love the way that Julie Cross makes Jackson care for Holly so much and that he would go to the end of the world to save her and I think that just makes his character really sweet.
     I would give Tempest by Julie Cross a 5 out of 5 stars because it is an amazingly well done book that EVERYONE will love! I am super excited for the next book in the series, Vortex: Tempest 2 Julie Cross, released January 8th, 2013.

Thoughts: John Green is a fantastic author and The Fault in our Stars is just another book to add to his fabulous collection. Sadly, I have yet to read any of John Green's other books yet but after reading The Fault in our Stars I am really looking forward to the rest of his books.
    Writing books about people with cancer, diseases and such, it can be hard to really get the feeling and how people really get depressed and sad because you don't really know what it does feel like unless you have been through it but John Green did an extraordinary job on that aspect in this book.
    John Green really nailed every aspect right till the end and made me cry, laugh and smile with joy all in one chapter which was one thing that really made me enjoy this book. My favourite saying was when the protagonist, Hazel said...My mother doesn't understand. She puts me in this support group because she thinks I am depressed because of my situation but really, depression is a side effect of death. (Not exact saying)
    That was one thing that really made me think and I really like it because if you think, that is true. Anyway, The Fault in out Stars by John Green was done really well and deserves a round of applause and an award really. So, I rated The Fault in our Stars an obvious 5/5 stars because it is one of those books that just speaks to you and you realise that things like this actually happen every day.

Thoughts: Legend is a non-stop action, suspense and romance novel that draws readers right into the twisting plot line that is Legend.  
    When I first picked up Legend, I was unsure on how much I would enjoy it because I thought it was just going to be just another dystopian novel but right as I started reading, Marie Lu just blew me away with how much I was enjoying this novel. June and Day go on a very interesting adventure that keeps you face up to this novel until you're done and it isn't a very long book so it is a fairly quick read that readers will enjoy very much and will keep them wanting more.
   The writing in this book is very well done and is one part of the book that you will enjoy a lot. Throughout the chapters, the protagonist does go back and forth between June and Day which can sometimes be good and sometimes, well...not so much. Marie Lu did a really good job with the switching view between the two and really helped people get through this book better then they would have if it was only told in one of the character's view.
    One cool thing about this book that you don't see a lot of is that the writing was gold just like the writing on the front cover which was really fun and makes your eyes really drawn to the writing and not wanting to look away.
     I didn't have any problems with Legend, it was a clean, fun and really action packed read. I would rate Legend by Marie Lu a 5/5 stars because it was a fantastic, exhilarating book and I am ,ooking forward to the sequel, Prodigy which is released January 29, 2013!

But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie's slashed body.
      Vee know tries to uncover the secret but who will believe her and she can't even bring herself to tell her best friend Rollins and let alone the police. Soon she finds herself more distant from Rollins and spending more time with Zane.
     Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.


Thoughts: Slide is a great thriller and is an easy read to sink your teeth into. Jill Hathaway makes Slide an enjoyable, fun and mysterious read that people will fall in love with.
     Jill Hathaway's writing is really good and I find it similar to Kim Harrington's -(Who wrote Clarity and Perception)- writing. I love the premise of this story a lot because mystery and thriller books are very fun and always give a chill down my back. You feel the rush in your head when you feel someone is in trouble or you have figured something out the the protagonist hasn't figured out yet. Those are my favourite things about reading mystery books because they are so fun and thrilling. I love them so much!
     One of the most original things in this book is how Vee can slide into other people's mind. When she slides, the scene gets very intense and you feel a cold sweat coming on because you know something freaky is going to happen and your heart starts to beat twice as much as it should.
     Slide by Jill Hathaway is a fun and thrilling book that is a nice quick read but it will keep you hooked the whole time. I rate Slide by Jill Hathaway a 4/5 stars because it was a great fun and thrilling book that has people hooked till the end and is a great read if you want to pick up a quick but still really good book.
